How to organise your wardrobe

If you're anything like me, I like to keep my wardrobe refreshed and up to date by having one huge clear out every six months or so.   When clearing out my wardrobe, I like to try things on which I haven't worn in a while to make sure they still fit and also suit me and if I haven't worn something that season, it has to go!
It is a lot easier to keep your wardrobe organised if you don't have so many items of clothing to sift through and by editing items of your clothing and selling them on eBay and marketplace, allows you to shop (guilt free) for newer items that are in fashion.

START BY EMPTYING EVERYTHING OUT OF YOUR WARDROBE

When Organizing the spaces in your home, it always is easier when you start with a blank canvas. By emptying out all items from your wardrobe, allows you to see exactly what you have got.    If you cant remember the last time you wore an item or it no longer fits, its best to part with it.

CATEGORIZE YOUR WARDROBE

Categorising the items in your wardrobe allows you to see exactly how many of each item you have, as well as making it easier to find what you are looking for.
Start by categorizing your Jackets, Shirts, Dresses, Tops and Pants into different piles.  As a general rule, I try not to keep too many of each item and usually stick to 2-3 pairs of pants, 2-3 jackets, and a few t-shirts.  Minimizing the amount of clothing items you have gives you more bang for your buck as it means that you'll have to wear the items more than once.

Dresses and jackets are stored best hung up on a quality hanger to help keep their shape and minimize wrinkling.  Whereas T-shirts can be folded or rolled up and stored in baskets with labels.  Our wooden wardrobe dividers with custom labels allow you to easily locate what you are looking for.

ORGANIZE YOUR CLOTHING BY COLOUR

Organising your clothing by colour makes it easier to put together outfits and find something matching to wear.  Visually, its more easy to find clothing that matches when items have been colour coordinated.

SEPARATE THE SEASONS

Lets face it, you're probably not going to need that thick fur coat during an Australian summer.  So one way to save space and get super organised is to pack away what you don't need.  Box it up, label whats inside and store away items that aren't in season.  Labelling your storage boxes will make it so much easier to find what you need when its time to swap back out your clothes for the change of the season.

RECYCLE OR UP-CYCLE

Whether you are talented with a sewing machine and want to transform your old clothing into a funky new piece or you simply want to donate your old items to charity. Recycling and Up-cycling your clothing will help to save over 305,000 tonnes of clothing from going to landfill each year.   And if you want to make a few extra dollars you can either sell old items of clothing on Facebook marketplace, Gumtree, eBay or try local swap meets or rent your clothes out.

INVEST IN STORAGE BASKETS

Storage baskets are great for keeping items categorized together and organised.  One simple way to see whats inside your storage baskets is to invest in clear baskets or to label them with our tags and custom labels.  Our Home organisation labels are made to order, so you can choose whatever specific label you need.
